Ethics with Impact
We don't believe in charitable box-ticking. That's not being ethical. Ethics, real ethics, are based on integrity, equity, compassion and doing the things that make a positive difference (not just talking about them) and without an ulterior motive. As in everything else, we will always cut to the chase. Profit, above everything else, is not for us. We hope it's not for you either.
We will always look for more efficient and effective ways of doing things, for ourselves and our clients, that might contribute, even in a small way, to a fairer society. Yes, we are here to help protect, build, and grow your business. Let's do that together with the right motives. Yes, we are a law firm, just in case after those few lines you were wondering…

Helping People
Alison gives her time freely to charities.
Charitable and not for profit clients benefit from discounted rates, with free time included in their retainer.
While at university in the East End of London, Alison started mentoring GCSE students from local schools whose families had no experience of further education – so who were not inclined to guide their children in that direction.
Alison worked to open up the potential opportunities that further study could offer, inspiring young people with pathways and advising them on their future journeys beyond school. She is acutely aware of the impact that ethnic and economic background, gender and place can have on further education, entrepreneurial opportunities and outcomes.
Since then, Alison has also mentored those returning from work after starting a family, and talented young lawyers, who may not have come through a ‘traditional’ academic pathway and who do not have access to contacts or valuable networks. Orange Grove Law is a strong advocate and active supporter of inclusion equity and accessibility in the legal profession.

Protecting the planet
Everyone has a part to play in managing climate change. To help Orange Grove Law and its clients make an impact and to try and find better ways to be ecologically and socially responsible to ensure the world is left in a better state for future generations, we are supporters of the Chancery Lane Project. This is a focused collaboration of thousands of lawyers and legal professionals (growing every day) to draft contracts and model laws that will help organisations (practically) deliver solutions to fight climate change.
Ethics + Values
We don’t know about you, but doesn’t it feel better when you get to work with people who share the same values, who speak the truth at all times and who see the world in the same way as you? Life is so much simpler when everyone is on the same page, and at Orange Grove Law, this is what’s on our page:
We are Socially Aware
Orange Grove Law will always:
Be purpose-led
Ensure we are decent and honourable
Hold ourselves and others accountable
Take responsibility for our words and actions
Have a balanced approach to everything we do
Ensure people we work with will not be exploited
Admit when we are wrong and apologise when necessary
Lead on diversity and inclusion by actively pursuing ways to improve our firm and the industry
Seek to make connections for you within our network, if we think it will help your business ambitions and growth
We are Commercially Savvy
Having spent decades as in-house lawyers, we are technical experts in our field. It's important to the clients we like to work with that we behave in a way that shows just how client-centric we are.
Orange Grove Law will always:
Use the unique ‘in-house perspective’ from our previous lives to provide practical/proactive advice and solutions…not just legal opinion
Use our experience to provide robust, value-add, relevant opinions and not simply answer the questions asked
Offer practical, pragmatic, risk-focused solutions based on expert strategic thinking
We are Collaborative
We are known for being friendly people, which in itself is a lovely thing to hear. We think it's because we work 'with' our clients; what we accomplish and achieve, we do together.
Orange Grove Law will always:
Be supportive, personable and friendly towards everyone we meet
Respect and be mindful of others
Play as team-players who are approachable and who like to enjoy themselves
Care enough to put individuals at ease
Listen to each other
Balance complete and utter professionalism with being relaxed and informal
Be straightforward in communication, and not over-process or over-complicate anything for the sake of it (why would anyone do that?)
